Hi, I’m Camryn! I grew up in Frederick, MD, and have always been fascinated by animals and science.
I went to Towson University, where I earned my bachelor's degree as a dual major in Biology and Animal Behavior, with a minor in Deaf Studies. After graduation, I combined my love for education and science by tutoring K-12 students in STEM, which eventually led me to pursue a career that brought both of these interests together.
In 2021, I joined the team at Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant and what started as a way to get closer to my field quickly turned into a true passion. After just a year, I was promoted to Assistant Hospital Manager, and I’ve been loving every moment of the journey. To continue growing in my career, I’m currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician Program to further expand my knowledge and skills in animal care.
When I’m not working or studying, you’ll find me spending time with my two furry companions: Calli, my playful 3-year-old pitbull (who we adopted in January 2024), and Ginger, my wise 15-year-old cat who’s been by my side since she was 5. We live in northern Baltimore where I juggle work, learning, and life with my little family.
One of my ultimate goals is to witness the awe-inspiring Great Migration in Africa, a truly remarkable event I’ve long hoped to witness firsthand. Oh, and here’s a fun fact: I’m fluent in American Sign Language!
